Those of us who are riders and designers consistently have a tension between
these two aspects of our lives. Too often we have little time to get our
work done or have anywhere near a work-life balance. Commuting from our
home or workplace to the stables just adds to the pressure of added travel
time and scheduling in enough time for the commute. Riding brings great
relief from the stressors of our worlds however if we become stressed just
to figure out how to fit riding in, then it defeats the purpose and
negatively impacts our creativity.
I propose we create a new concepts of Design Stables, a place where the
workplace and horses are in the same location so we can be creative and have
the wonderful release and pleasure of riding whenever we like.
Shift from commuting to the city to commuting to the country. You won’t have
to deal with the day to day rush hour traffic and will be surrounded with
the peace, tranquility and centeredness riding brings.
What a great idea, Tuuli! Do you have a place in mind to start this project that combines graphic designers and horses? Will people travel in for a short time or do you see it as a living community?
