Every New Year newspapers and other media look back at the old year for photos that illustrates events that made the headlines. They dedicate sections or pages in the paper to the best pictures.
The flemish newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws made a 20 page section called ‘08 IN BEELD with 144 photos selected by the staff which only counts on photographer.

Pictures is a very important part of the whole concept for a tabloid like Het Laatste Nieuws. Maybe next year we will see that there actually was human beings behind the cameras when the pictures was taken and not only PN, TW or others strange names.
